Advocacy on Women Rights and Leadership in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)

On 08, March 2021, The United Youth of the Philippines – Women, Inc. (UnYPhil-Women) led the 5-day advocacy activities on Promoting Women’s Rights and Leadership in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) held in Sultan Kudarat as part of the Women’s Empowerment in Leadership and Development in Bangsamoro area (WELD – Peace) Phase II project.

Over fifty (50) women leaders from Sultan Kudarat, DSA, Mamasapano, Shariff Saydona and GSKP, Maguindanao were capacitated and educated on parliamentary procedures and planning on political awareness.

WELD Peace is peace program in partnership with OXFAM and several partners under DFAT Australia’s working together to support to the establishment of inclusive and accountable Bangsamoro institutions that promote and support the participation of women and other marginalized groups in governance.
